The hotel was very clean and modern,with maid service every day,our apartment (for 3) was big enough,but didn't have enough storage space,there's also a lack of plug points,so drying and straightening your hair is a problem,as there is non near any mirror's.we had a TV in our apartment,which had all the English channels,but we didn't need to watch them,as we went out all the time.The pool is small and freezing and not many sunbeds,so we went to the nearest beach,not to far away.we were staying bed and breakfast,and couldn't fault the breakfast area all,buffet style,with everything from bacon and eggs and cereal to yogurt and fruit,something for everyone.The only down side to this hotel,is the noise,which comes from all the stag and hen parties,who think it's ok to make as much noise as possible! We never heard anything from the kiss disco,except for kicking out time,around 6am,then it was more shouting and screaming.Overall a very nice hotel,let down by certain guests,definitely not suitable for older people (as lots of steps) or young children( too much noise and no kids club etc) Read Less

Only 5 minutes (and 6/7 euro) by taxi to the old town.
Excellent breakfast, very attentive staff. Very well organised with covid safety measures . Bed linen and towels are changed every day. Fridge and a safe in each room.
We loved our balcony facing the park and the ocean. Other sides face either the pool or the carpark.
I tried a 90minute relaxing massage in the hotel. Very good. I didnt like the noisy aircon though and no water or juice is provided in the end. Other than that highly recommended.
In the area try Neto restaurant, Sol café, Hope tapas - all super.
Loved every minute in the hotel. Can't wait to return again.
P.s. If availing of the antigen test in the hotel ( 20eiro). Make sure you take a picture of the hard copy. I lost mine and they didn't have another copy for me, nor did they keep any digital record of it. Read Less

Elle nous a tout expliqué en détails: piscines, horaires du spa, petit-déjeuner... la chambre double est spacieuse, propre, avec un joli balcon et une très bonne literie. Le petit-déjeuner est complet et avec un délicieux jus d'orange frais. Le temps était fantastique au mois de février et avons pu profiter des extérieurs et d'une baignade dans la seconde piscine qui était chauffée. Nous avons également demandé à rendre la chambre une heure plus tard, sans aucun problème. La cerise sur le gâteau: une bouteille de vin pétillant et des fruits avec du chocolat dans la chambre, le second jour. Nous n'avons rien à redire, tout était parfait ! I’ve seen some poor feedback on here that I quite frankly find ridiculous, I personally received comments from 4 couples saying we made there weekend else it would of been boring for them, we received no negative vibes or sign of complaint I spoke to staff and asked if we were ok and they suggested it was good to have us.
The hotel is amazing the staff exceptional and the couples there didn’t prevent our enjoyment
I give this hotel the complete thumbs up
If people are anti groups they should ask the right questions of the hotels before they book unless they just prefer to have something to complain about

Loved the hotel from the minute I walked in and was very sad to leave room clean and had everything we needed...shower TV safe aircon bathroom even had shower gel, pool towels included along with bath and hand towels so if you want to travel light this is a perfect hotel, the pool is small but fine for the size of the hotel, nice little pool bar main bar inside very reasonable prices for drinks and snacks, breakfast was very nice and the view is fabulous, The staff very friendly and helpful nothing was a problem for them so thank you x , shops very close and nice little restaurants including one where you can get bread and olives meal drink ( carafe of wine beer soft drink ) dessert coffee and port for €8.50 or €11 well worth a visit we went twice...there is a local bus takes you too albuferia town and costs €2.50 one way per person but was cheaper for us to get an uber the literally arrived in a minute or 2 and were clean nice and understood English very well usually around €6 to old town and cheaper to the strip or a little more to the marina where we went go karting...lots to do for any type of holiday families, couples young and older or just a few friends away together we are definitely coming back and loved the velamar hotel ***** Read Less

Our room was excellent, decorated to high a standard, again exceptionally clean, air con was faultless and the bed was absolutely massive (and comfortable). The grounds and main pool were superb - the area around the pool would have benefited from a few extra umbrellas to shade the midday sun and some of the gym equipment was looking a bit tired. The staff were supremely helpful and accomodating - particularly Ana Felix who assisted with our booking and room choice and the main barman who employed our son to help making drinks. The food in the restaurant was to a very high standard from a fixed menu and in a very comfortable dining environment - one thing is that every year we have been it is always a bit of surprise if it will be the fixed menu or buffet.
In summary: absolutely superb and we will be back. Read Less

The rooms are modern and spacious and the apartments are even more spacious. The air con was fab. Tbh it was home from home. As soon as we got the rooms we made it our home for the 4 nights we were there. The pool was lovely and cold and it was never a problem getting a sunbed only on the first day when we arrived after 2pm, but we found a table n chairs and set up our own little area. The breakfast is lovely and there is something for everyone. I loved the scrambled egg it was really nice and cokes to perfection (normally sloppy everywhere I have been)
The kiss disco that opens at weekends never caused us a problem at all and the front door is locked up each night and you can only enter with your key, which means no one can wander in from over the road (great security). All 9 of us would meet in the hens room for a few drinks before we went out. Once it hit 10 o clock the security guard came to tell us to keep the noise down. This wasn’t a problem at all and we respected the other residents and the security guards wishes. We found the food for lunch n tea really nice and tbh a lot cheaper than a lot of the bars n restaurants. The location is good too and just a few minutes walk to the strip where the night life is. Also the beach is within walking distance. The shops over the road are reasonably priced too for drinks etc. The reception staff are so helpful and helped us to find numerous nice restaurants (thank you).I have to praise the management and staff because this hotel is beautiful and clean and very well kept. Recentemente renovado, o hotel proporciona o maior conforto aos seus hóspedes e a sua localização permite um fácil acesso, quer à praia, quer a diversos bares e restaurantes locais. Ainda sobre a localização, esta permite visitar locais ao redor de Albufeira, algo que tornou a minha visita muito mais interessante. Outro aspeto positivo é o facto de o hotel oferecer uma vasta seleção de refeições ligeiras ao longo de todo o dia, sempre muito bem apresentadas e saborosas.
A zona da piscina é muito agradável, sempre com música ambiente e com sofás muito confortáveis que permitem relaxar e aproveitar o sol e o bom tempo que tivemos durante esta semana.
O quarto era sempre limpo e arrumado e a vista da varanda lindíssima!
Sem duvida que recomendo uma estadia neste hotel e fica a vontade de voltar um dia!

The hotel was modern and clean. The Pool is small but for the size of the hotel and the amount of guests it is perfect and looks exactly like the pictures. We had a room without a balcony which we knew when we booked, however as we did not have a balcony it was a bit difficult to dry swimwear and towels, would be handy to have some sort of dryer that could be hung out of the window. The bathroom was very clean and fresh towels were provided as needed along with additional towels that could be used at the beach or pool. if you enjoy a bath however, it is difficult to fill as it did not have a tap only the shower, however this was quite soothing due to the water falling noise. There are two stunning beaches within a 15 minute walk, and a supermarket 2 minutes down the road. Very nice hotel, would definatley book again. Read Less

In the evening there is a three course menu: You have the choice between two starters (soup and starter) and three main courses (meat, fish & vegetarian). The last choice is between two desserts. We really enjoyed it.
What really surprised us was the thoughtful staff that even made a birthday cake and brought it together with a bottle of sparkling wine to our room!

Set in a quiet area 6km from Old Town Albufeira.
Rooms cleaned daily, this very clean hotel has lovely rooms and terrific and friendly staff.
On either side of the hotel there are a few restaurant/bars and their prices have to be seen to be believed. Two of them offer a 4 course meal with wine or a beer for 12.50! A snack bar right beside the hotel sells a pint for 2 euros and a glass of wine for 1. These places close at about 11 or 11:30 pm as does the hotel bar.
Less than a 20 minute walk away will take you to the beach and the main part of Olhos de Agua. Plenty of good bars and restaurants with later closing times.
For 2.35 on the bus or an 8 euro taxi ride you can go to Old Town Albufeira with its heaving nightlife. there's something there for eveybody.
We had a really great week here which was greatly enhanced by our stay in the lovely Velamar hotel. Read Less

Hotel very modern and exactly what we were looking for. Our room and balcony was spacious- had a comfy sun lounger bed on balcony which was perfect. All the staff were lovely and couldn’t do enough to help. The location of the hotel was excellent-very central within the old town. You can hear music throughout the night due to how close the hotel is to the strip however this didn’t bother us at all. After a certain time you also need a key card to enter the hotel which made me feel safe within the hotel. The pool area was our favourite due to the atmosphere : big sun loungers, roof top terrace, great food, drinks and cocktails. The only suggestion I would make would be to change up the music playlist as it was quite repetitive although that’s just me being picky. It was my birthday on the final day of the holiday and unfortunately it was raining however we made use of the 2x free hotel spa tokens that we got on our arrival. Começando pelo staff, que sempre nos recebeu com a maior simpatia e fez de tudo para garantir que esta semana fosse inesquecível, passando pelo próprio hotel. Recentemente renovado, o hotel proporciona o maior conforto aos seus hóspedes e a sua localização permite um fácil acesso, quer à praia, quer a diversos bares e restaurantes locais. Ainda sobre a localização, esta permite visitar locais ao redor de Albufeira, algo que tornou a minha visita muito mais interessante. Outro aspeto positivo é o facto de o hotel oferecer uma vasta seleção de refeições ligeiras ao longo de todo o dia, sempre muito bem apresentadas e saborosas.
A zona da piscina é muito agradável, sempre com música ambiente e com sofás muito confortáveis que permitem relaxar e aproveitar o sol e o bom tempo que tivemos durante esta semana.
O quarto era sempre limpo e arrumado e a vista da varanda lindíssima!
Sem duvida que recomendo uma estadia neste hotel e fica a vontade de voltar um dia!

The room was fantastic, really spacious and well presented. There was loads of wardrobe and drawer space, unlike many hotels we’ve stayed in. The bathroom was large and very clean and the shower was really powerful. The only downside was the shower curtain which wasn’t ideal, a glass curtain is preferable. Whilst the room was cleaned every day, you could choose to not have it cleaned and towels changed whenever you wanted in return for a €5 voucher to be used in the bars and restaurant.
Outdoor areas were well maintained and frequently swept and cleaned. The gardens are extensive and enable you to get away from other guests and have time to yourself if you wish to. The main pool area is well looked after and there are plenty of beds. The pool itself is really clean and well maintained, with great views over the hotel grounds. Our son loved playing in the pool all day.
Whilst there is a ‘kids club’, this is really low key. Children can come and go as they please depending upon whether they fancy joining the activities on offer. This means that you don’t have to sign them over for the day. There is no loud music or irritating stuff going on to annoy those trying to relax by the pool. For example, they may do some painting, make a cake, go for a picnic in the grounds, go and play tennis in the grounds etc. We’ve never used a kids club before because we don’t like to sign our son over for the morning / afternoon / day but he did enjoy popping in and out to suit himself.
The pool bar serves a good range of lunchtime snacks which are of a good quality. Service is quite slow, but that didn’t really bother us because we were on holiday and not in a rush. One major downside for us was the cost of drinks and ice creams etc. We found it really expensive. For example, a small can of Pepsi Max was €3.50 and a large bottle of water was €3.
We were half board. We often swapped our evening meal for lunch and went out to eat most evenings. The set menu in the hotel is very limited. However, the food is excellent quality but portion sizes quite small if you have a big appetite. As already mentioned, drinks and wine to accompany your meal are very expensive.
We are out most evenings and found that Uber service was great to and from the hotel. There are some great little restaurants not too far from the hotel by taxi. Reception staff were always happy to ring ahead and book for us.
The staff at the hotel are a credit to the company. They are helpful, attentive and friendly. Our experience was that nothing seems to be too much trouble for them.
We would definitely return, however probably on a B&B basis next time rather than half board in one of the villas. Read Less

Great location, we have made trips to Lagos and Olhão, very quickly.
They let children (without mask in a pandemic time) to go to the buffet and breathe on top of the food at breakfast. We have complaint the first time we saw it, the employee understood, spoke to the parents, who understood as well. We also gave the same message at the reception, who also said they understood. Ironically there is noticeably a lack of Attention To detail.! The pool/bar restaurant has a very slow we waited an hour yesterday for a chicken sandwich and a Cesar salad. We have noticed that the food varies for example the Val De Rei sandwich lists the it has Pesto this was missing every time we ordered it and despite several requests it never appeared. Our previous visit we found that the service was very very good and predominately Portuguese staff they all spoke very good English, however there is an abundance on non speaking English staff, when there is a language barrier do not seek support from their Portuguese counterparts. I personally think this is an issue that needs addressing especially when there are unable to find your room number when you offer it at breakfast time. We managed to fit in a massage which was lovely, the hospitality etc perfect. We did not eat in the restaurant we found the menu a little boring with. I thing really tempting our taste buds. We hired the tennis court it cost 10 euro we thought this was a bit steep . Due to the location of the hotel unless you hire a car you are very reliant on taxis . These can work out quite expensive, so down load the Uber App you will save at least 4/5 Euros per trip. All in all this is a very tranquil setting and has many plus’s . However despite asking for a price from Raquel for next year (3rd) visit the figures haven’t been given to me 5 days after the request. Again it’s that non urgency that keeps creeping through. Great Location Newly built hotel in a great location near to the beach, restaurants and bars. Great customer service and a outstanding rooftop pool. The rooms were very clean and have excellent strong showers. Would definitely stay again if given the chance

We had been to this hotel in 2013, before having kids, and had really enjoyed our stay back then. Our booking this time was made 24 hours before we arrived due to all the uncertainty during this time. Anna arranged everything- the room, car rental, 24 hours before! She couldn’t have been more helpful and during our stay was always friendly and available for advice on beaches and surrounding area etc. Bernardo and Dario at the restaurant were amazing- so helpful and kind to our kids- thank you so much.
The room was great with a massive bed and lovely view of the pool and the coast. The air conditioning in the room worked well. We stayed in a family room- our two young daughters slept on a pull out double sofa bed. We stayed half board, the breakfasts were delicious- eggs, bacon, juice, coffee, and a large basket of rolls and gorgeous pastries including the traditional Portuguese custard tart.
The surrounding gardens in the morning were exceptionally beautiful. Our kids are 4 and 6 and loved the pool and gardens. The dinners with half board were salads, soups, fish or meat with sides and dessert which we really enjoyed. We made some trips to the beaches and towns but it was so lovely lazing around the pool, we’ll explore more in the future.
All in all we can’t wait to return to this hotel and wish to thank all the staff for such an amazing holiday.

Wonderful hotel The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The hotel was lovely. Clean rooms, comfy beds, good food. A great place to relax. Newtown is only a few ministers walk away, and the old town is about a forty minute walk.

We didn't hear too much noise and our room faced the pool in the main building. My only complaint would be the cleaning crew who would vacuum every morning at 9 am which was really annoying, i'm sure they could have at least waited until 10 before vacuuming outside the room doors.
